The Parish Council is made up of seven elected members and employs a Parish Clerk. Parish Councillors are elected every four years. Their role is to represent local people and help provide local amenities and facilities. They have an active interest and concern for their local community and are not paid. The Parish Council liaises with numerous organisations, including North Yorkshire Council, the North York Moors National Park Authority and Yorkshire Local Councils Associations.
The Council aims to have an up to date record of meetings, contact details and news items, along with details of activities in the Parish. One of the legal obligations is to share information about finances and activities as the Council is subject to public scrutiny.
NOTICE OF VACANCY - IN OFFICE OF COUNCILLOR - LYTHE PARISH
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN
that due to the resignation of Bronia Hall, a vacancy has arisen in
the Office of Councillor for the Parish Council.
If by 28 July 2026 (14 days excluding Dies Non, after the date of this
notice) a request for an election to fill said vacancy is made in
writing to the Proper Officer at the address below by TEN electors
for the said Parish, an election will be held to fill the said vacancy,
otherwise the vacancy will be filled by co-option.
If an election is called, it will take place not later than 30 September2026.
